Waste Services
Safe, responsible waste management across all Trust sites.
Our Waste Services team manages all waste safely and responsibly across our Trust sites. We make sure clinical, household, confidential and other specialist waste is collected, moved and disposed of in the right way. We follow national waste laws, environmental rules and Trust policies to keep people safe and protect the environment
We collect and transport all types of waste across our sites, including clinical waste, municipal waste, confidential waste, WEEE and hazardous materials. We use the national colour‑coded system to keep waste types separate and safe. All waste is stored in approved compounds before collection by specialist disposal companies.
Our team helps the Trust meet legal waste and environmental duties. We give advice, complete compliance and pre ‑ acceptance audits, manage waste contracts and respond to waste ‑ related issues. We also provide waste management training to help staff follow safe working practices.
Waste porters collect, move and store all clinical and municipal waste across our sites. They ensure waste is handled safely and reaches the correct storage areas for disposal.
We arrange ad‑hoc confidential waste collections to support departments when needed.
We support home collections of clinical waste and sharps for patients in the community. Staff must complete the required consent and request forms and send them to the Waste Management Team to arrange a collection.
