Paul McEldon Chair
Paul joined Choice as Chair in April 2026. He was first appointed at City Hospitals Sunderland NHS Foundation Trust in 2017, before becoming a Non‑Executive Director on the Interim Board of South Tyneside and Sunderland NHS Foundation Trust in 2018 and the substantive Board in 2019.
Paul is a Chartered Accountant and has been Chief Executive of the North East of England BIC Ltd since 2001. He previously served as a Non‑Executive Director for Northumberland, Tyne and Wear NHS Foundation Trust until 2017. Paul is a member of the North East LEP Business Support Board and the Sunderland Economic Leadership Board and has been Vice Chair and Governor at Sunderland College since 2013.
